Position Title: Systems Administrator II
Location: San Diego, California
Clearance Requirements: Active Secret Clearance Required
Position Status: Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: Converting to $75,000-$80,000 annually

Position Description:
Seneca Resources is seeking a Systems Administrator II to support a federal defense program in San Diego, California. This is a hands-on, mission-critical role focused on maintaining the integrity, availability, and performance of secure IT infrastructure and operating systems. You will manage identity and access controls, harden systems to federal standards, resolve complex technical issues, and ensure continuous uptime across classified computing environments. This position is 100% onsite and offers a clear path to full-time employment with a defense contractor committed to employee development and long-term career growth.

Required Skills/Education:

• Active Secret clearance
• IAT Level II certification required: CySA+, CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant systems administration experience in an enterprise or government environment
• Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Active Directory including ADUC, DNS, GPO, and WSUS
• Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and DoD certificate-based authentication
• Proficiency performing system maintenance including backups, recovery, and file management
• Experience acquiring, installing, configuring, and testing software upgrades and hardware components
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across hardware, software, and network systems
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs and federal IT compliance standards
• Experience supporting VPN, network, and email administration in a secure environment
• Ability to monitor system performance and conduct system testing in compliance with IT policies

Desired Skills:

• Experience with network security software and IT backup tools
• Familiarity with licensing management and upgrades management procedures
• Strong documentation skills including development and maintenance of SOPs
