Job Description

Requirements:

Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
BLS and ACLS certification required
Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency required
1+ years of telemetry experience required
Experience monitoring cardiac rhythms and managing cardiac medications

Duties:

Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing care to patients with cardiac and other acute conditions
Interpret cardiac rhythms and identify arrhythmias, escalating care as needed
Administer medications, including cardiac drips and antiarrhythmics, per physician orders
Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition promptly
Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team on plan of care
Respond to rapid response and code interventions as needed
Educate patients and families on cardiac condition, treatment plan, and lifestyle modifications
Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient response in the EMR
Manage a typical patient load per facility acuity and staffing guidelines
Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols are followed
