This posting is for a roster, not an opening we are filling today. Connexus Hub holds the contract with the U.S. Department of Labor for No Surprises Act complaint processing, and performance begins September 29, 2026. Separate from the core team, the contract carries an optional surge component of up to 30 additional operators that the Government may activate if complaint volume requires it.

The Government may activate all of it, part of it, or none of it. We do not control that decision and we cannot predict it. Joining this roster is not a job offer and carries no guarantee of work. What it does is put you first in line, with your paperwork already moving, on the day a decision comes.

We are being direct about this because the alternative is wasting your time. If you need a confirmed start date, apply to our core operator openings instead and we will point you there.

Why the roster exists

Federal suitability processing takes weeks, and nobody may begin work before it comes back favorable. If we waited for an activation notice to start recruiting, the Government would wait months for help it needs immediately. Building the roster in advance means that when an activation comes, we are sending completed packets rather than posting a job.

In practice that means we will interview you, make a conditional selection, and keep in touch while the roster stands. If you already hold a current favorable federal suitability determination, your timeline shortens considerably.

The work

Providers and their billing offices file complaints against health plans under the No Surprises Act, the federal law protecting patients from surprise medical bills. The Agency has 60 days to respond to each one. Surge operators do the same work as the core team, at the same standard.

• Review each day's new complaints, identify what is being alleged, and route them correctly.
• Screen complaints against defined jurisdiction categories and flag the ones requiring notification to the Agency within two business days.
• Enter and maintain complaint records accurately in the Government's Technical Assistance Inquiry System (TAIS).
• Contact complainants for information missing from a filing and follow up until you have what is needed.
• Contact health plans by telephone and pre-approved e-mail templates, logging every contact and response.
• Keep complainants informed on unresolved cases and escalate a case that is not moving before it ages.
• Correct data errors in existing records and support recurring reporting to the Agency.

What you need

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year or more of data entry, case processing, claims, customer service, or administrative support experience. Health plan, medical billing, or federal case-processing experience is a strong plus.
• Comfort working in a case management or records system and typing accurately at volume.
• Clear written and telephone communication. You will be speaking with medical billing offices and health plan representatives.
• Ability to be reliably on-site in downtown Washington, DC.
• U.S. person status, and the ability to obtain and maintain a favorable federal suitability determination (Minimum Background Investigation / Trusted Workforce 2.0 moderate). No work may begin before that determination is favorable.

How the roster works

• You apply and we review. Strong fits get a screening conversation within about a week.
• We make conditional selections and tell you where you stand. No suitability paperwork is submitted at this stage.
• We check in periodically so the roster stays current. Tell us any time if your situation changes or you want off the list.
• If the Government activates surge capacity, we extend offers from the roster in order and start suitability processing the same week.
• You are free to take other work at any point. The roster asks nothing of you and holds nothing over you.
