Position Overview We are seeking a Food Service Manager to provide personal support to the campus with the highest needs in a multifaceted role. The position coordinates and directs day‑to‑day activities of the campus Food Service Team, ensuring food quality standards, inventory levels, food safety guidelines, and customer service expectations are met. Essential Functions Work in a multifaceted role, changing between food service worker, cook, cashier, and manager as needed. Perform all food service worker duties and support colleagues with opening and closing tasks. Assist with operational oversight, training, and supervision as required. Prepare, serve, and replenish food and drink in the kitchen. Assist in cooking tasks, including panning frozen food, cupping fruit, washing and bagging produce, baking, chopping salad items, monitoring temperatures, preparing sandwiches, and removing hot items from ovens. Set up and stock work areas with necessary ingredients and equipment. Serve and replenish food supplies as needed. Monitor inventory levels, order food and supplies, and ensure proper rotation and safe storage. Assist manager in verifying and monitoring HACCP procedures and logs. Maintain courteous, respectful relationships with students, staff, and parents. Follow all company safety, security, emergency, and energy policies. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Resolve issues with school administrators, parents, and students, communicating procedures, policies, and providing customer service to cafeteria users. Supervisory and Managerial Responsibility Self‑motivated, eager to grow and learn; communicative with a customer‑service focus; able to coach and celebrate in the moment. Schedule 10‑month or year‑round employee, minimum 40 hours per week, 7:00AM–3:30PM, including a 30‑minute lunch break. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities High School Diploma or GED. Food Handler’s Certificate/Card. Manager Certification (required for all managers). Minimum Experience Four years of food handling service/preparation or cashiering experience. Two years of lead or supervisory experience. Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ensure all Food Service Employees properly monitor control measures, Critical Control Points (CCPs), and document required records. Monitor overall performance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) such as food temperature, hand washing, and sanitizing. Implement and enforce policies and procedures. Maintain a professional appearance per the employee handbook. Cook, prep, and serve meals; operate all kitchen equipment. Provide training to kitchen staff on all aspects of food service operations, including equipment use. Assign job responsibilities, develop work schedules with supervisor approval. Maintain a cooperative relationship with school administration. Prepare daily production sheets and place weekly orders with the food supplier. Ensure the kitchen remains clean and orderly throughout the day. Operate the cash register/POS system and perform daily reconciliation and end‑of‑day closing. Implement financial controls to maintain profitability. Account for all funds and handle deposits as required. Coordinate catering for half‑days, special events, teacher‑in‑service days, conference days, and school breaks. Manage weekly and monthly inventory; organize and control stockroom and cold storage. Ensure employees complete necessary HR & payroll paperwork. Attend campus staff meetings, special functions, and in‑services as required. Conduct deep cleanings four times per year (mandatory). Background Checks Pass a criminal history background check. Obtain and maintain a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card. Physical and Travel Requirements Travel between campuses as required; lift up to 25 pounds on occasion; sitting for long periods, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping, and long periods of concentration; local and in‑state travel required.
