Medical Assistant - CMA / MA

Job Description

Job Summary:
Supports eye care services by assisting providers with clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring efficient patient flow and high-quality care. Develops skills in optical, imaging, and documentation while providing excellent customer service to patients of all ages.

Responsibilities:

• Screen and prepare patients for examinations, performing optical and point-of-care testing accurately.
• Assist patients with optical orders, including benefits verification, frame selection, measurements, payment processing, and dispensing.
• Acquire ocular images such as photos, OCT, visual fields, and topography, and upload them to the medical record for provider review.
• Manage administrative duties including triaging, scheduling, answering patient inquiries, and facilitating referrals.
• Maintain inventory, process invoices, handle returns, and ensure supplies are stocked and organized.
• Adhere to patient confidentiality policies and support team efforts to meet organizational goals.

Qualifications:

• Strong customer service skills with attention to detail and clear communication.
• Proven clinical experience as a Medical Assistant or CMA, with at least one year in a healthcare setting.
• Basic knowledge of optical and ocular imaging procedures.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy and efficiency.
• Holds a high school diploma or GED.
• Current BLS certification.
