Certified Medical Assistant – Optometry Assistant

Schedule: M-F 8-5

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: Normal

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• National MA Certification Required
• One year of medical assistant experience
• BLS Certification

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Support eye care services to patients of all ages as an Optometry Assistant.
• Room and screen patients for providers, performing optical and point of care lab testing.
• Assist patients with optical orders, including verification of benefits, frame selection, measurements, order entry, payment collection, and order verification.
• Acquire ocular imaging and enter images into medical records for provider review.
• Assist with scheduling and triaging referred or recalled patients, along with managing phone inquiries.
• Collaborate with care coordinators and other healthcare staff to facilitate patient referrals.

• Flu vaccine required
• Housing and transportation assistance must be researched and prepared for travelers.
• Start date is contingent upon receipt of fingerprint cards for processing.
