DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Greet and check in/out patients Assist patients with kiosk check-in and provide, if necessary, paper check-in forms Ensure patient demographic and financial information is up-to-date and accurate Capture and/or confirm patient insurance information at the time of the appointment booking and at time of check-in Ensure that patient copay, deductible and coinsurance information is accurate and up-to-date at the time of check-in Politely ensure patient copays are paid before appointments and that any applicable co-insurance or deductibles are paid either at check-in (if possible) or at check-out Tabulate balances and collect payment for product or service sales and post payments to patient accounts Manage communications with patients and others Promptly and politely answer inbound telephone calls from patients, referring clinics, insurance companies, and other callers Monitor voicemails and emails and ensure all patient and other inquiries are promptly returned Monitor and manage faxes, ensuring manager and nurses notified of any relevant faxes and that referrals faxes are logged and entered into EMR As needed, fax patient referral letters and pathology reports to referring clinics and providers Assist with general office administration Ensure waiting area is tidy and that drink station is stocked and clean Ensure patient restroom is tidy and stocked Ensure breakroom is stocked Wash and fold clinic-related laundry Monitor and order office, medical or other general supplies Ensure clinic garbage cans are routinely emptied into rolling can and that rolling can is put out to street each week Assist with patient care and other medical duties as needed Assist and direct patients with preparation for certain lab tests and chemical peels Assist patients with light therapy treatments Work with nurses or doctor on processing any insurance inquiries (prior authorizations), pharmacy questions or other.
