This is a contractual temporary position not to exceed twelve (12) months. This position is full time, 40 hours a week. After the applicable waiting period, the individual will be eligible for health benefits, annual increases but not pension/retirement 401 benefits.
Responsible for monitoring the red-light camera systems to ensure the effective enforcement of traffic laws and enhance public safety. The coordinator will also analyze camera data, assist with legal and administrative processes, and provide support for red-light camera operations. For purposes of administering the section, the department, a county, or a municipality may authorize a traffic infraction enforcement officer under s 316.640 to issue a traffic citation for a violation of F.S. 316.074(1) or F.S. 316.075 (1) (c) 1. Facilitates the development of public trust and confidence in the city.

This position is considered an "Essential Position" for the purpose of Emergency Management. Emergency duties will be assigned as needed. This position requires 24 hours a day, 7 days per week availability during City of Port St Lucie emergencies, as determined by City Administrators, Emergency Manager or City Officials. - Understanding of the Red-Light Camera System and F.S.S. 316.0083.
- Communicate with the public, answer questions and provide information about the Red-Light Camera System.
- Monitor and analyze photos, live feeds, videos, and review captured footage to identify violations and ensure adherence to operational protocols.
- Review recorded images prior to the issuance of a Notice of Violation to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the recorded images. All violation notices will comply with the Mark Wandall Traffic Safety Program, Fla. Stat. § 316.0083.
- Enter, retrieve, review, and verify the accuracy of entered data using word processing, databases, or other programs.
- Perform clerical tasks, including answering telephone calls, entering data into the computer system, copying, filing, and composing statistical reports.
- Notify any issue involving the Red-Light Camera software's capabilities and expectations through effective communication with Police Department program manager.
- Preparing evidence and testifying in court or before hearing officers to explain the technical data behind a citation.
- May provide training and technical support to staff involved in the red-light camera operations.
- Acting as a liaison between the municipality and the private vendors that maintain the camera hardware.
- Ensuring that notices of violation are sent within the required 30-day window specified by the Mark Wandall Traffic Safety Program.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

- Must pass a visual acuity test administered by the City of Port St. Lucie. Contact lenses are permitted. Applicants must be able to distinguish between the colors red, green, and yellow.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment polygraph examination and background investigation.
- Knowledge of the department and City's policies, procedures, and practices, applicable federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, statutes, and regulations.
- Knowledge of the City of Port St. Lucie's geography and its road network.
- Knowledge of computer programs: Microsoft Office and Records Management Systems (RMS).
