Shift Manager

We are looking for a hands-on Shift Manager who can lead a successful shift while working alongside the team to deliver excellent food and guest service. Shift Managers are working leaders: they help direct restaurant operations, support and coach Crew Members, and step into Front of House and Back of House positions whenever needed. The Shift Manager supports the General Manager by maintaining Wingstop standards for speed of service, order accuracy, food quality, cleanliness, food safety, labor, and the overall guest experience. This role is expected to lead by example, communicate professionally, and help the team stay focused and productive throughout the shift. Primary Responsibilities Lead assigned shifts and ensure stations are properly staffed, prepared, and operating efficiently. Work side-by-side with Crew Members and perform regular Crew Member duties as business needs require, including greeting guests, taking and preparing orders, processing cash and credit card transactions, cooking and assembling food, cleaning, stocking, and completing opening or closing responsibilities. Provide exceptional guest service and respond promptly and professionally to guest questions or concerns. Manage speed of service, order accuracy, food quality, and the overall guest experience during the shift. Maintain Wingstop QSC standards for cleanliness, food safety, product quality, facilities, and operational procedures. Ensure food is prepared according to Wingstop recipes and standards, and that products are properly labeled, dated, rotated, and stored. Complete required food-safety and operational checks, including temperature logs, accurately on each shift. Monitor employee meal and rest periods and help ensure they are provided in accordance with company policy. Monitor labor during the shift and make appropriate staffing adjustments based on sales, service needs, and direction from the General Manager. Coach Crew Members in the moment on service, food quality, cleanliness, productivity, teamwork, and restaurant procedures. Delegate shift responsibilities, follow up on assigned tasks, and help maintain an accountable and professional work environment. Communicate equipment, maintenance, inventory, staffing, safety, HR, or compliance concerns promptly to the General Manager or appropriate support team. Follow company procedures for cash handling, point-of-sale access, timekeeping, and other manager-level system access. Shift Managers may not make unauthorized edits to their own time records or those of other employees. Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs. What We’re Looking For Previous restaurant experience; leadership or supervisory experience is preferred. Strong customer service, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills. Ability to stay calm, professional, and solution-focused in a fast-paced environment. Good judgment and the ability to make appropriate decisions during a shift. Basic math skills and comfort using point-of-sale and restaurant systems. Dependable, organized, motivated, and willing to take initiative. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, closing shifts, and peak business periods as scheduled. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, perform restaurant duties, and lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. What Success Looks Like A well-organized shift where Crew Members know their stations and responsibilities. Fast, accurate service with consistent food quality and a positive guest experience. A clean, stocked, organized, and food-safe restaurant throughout the shift. Crew Members receive clear direction, support, and coaching from a leader who works alongside them. Meal and rest periods, temperature logs, cash-handling procedures, and other shift responsibilities are completed consistently and correctly. Problems are addressed promptly, professionally, and escalated to the General Manager when appropriate. We're not in the wing business. We're in the flavor business.
