Duties And Responsibilities In addition to working on a summer project, the intern will apply basic financial concepts and accounting principles to include but not limited to: Process monthly data including inputting, coding, scanning, copying and distributing of reports & information. Preparation of journal entries with all applicable backup documentation and proposed accounts & cost centers. Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts. Analyze and account for all payments for oil and gas sales from operated and non-operated properties; Analyze Joint Interest billings for compliance with Joint Operating Agreements and industry guidelines. Analyze and account for purchases of services, equipment, and materials used in drilling, completing and producing oil wells. Research, analyze and resolve disputes with third party working interest owners, operators and vendors. Other duties as assigned. Skills And Competencies Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Proficient computer skills. Proven team player. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Strong customer focus and a team player. Effective time management. Required Qualifications Current enrollment in 4 year college or university; Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or finance; Eligible to work permanently in the United States upon graduation. An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 3.0 GPA Physical Requirements And Working Conditions Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
