About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required, including high-risk antepartum and intrapartum care. License: Active Virginia State or Compact RN License required. Certifications: BLS required. Must-Have: Experience in antepartum, intrapartum, and OBOR (combination of scrubbing or circulating preferred). Experience with any electronic charting system required. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. The nurse will provide care to low and high-risk pregnant patients during the antepartum period through delivery. The unit accommodates pregnant patients who are over 20 weeks gestational age. Candidates must have experience with sterile speculum exams, non-stress tests, and assessments related to edema and clonus. Nurses should be familiar with fetal heart monitoring and have the ability to recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. Experience with medications such as antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, and pitocin is required. The unit averages 250 deliveries per month and handles 350 triage patients monthly. Nurses will be required to work weekends and at least one holiday during the contract period. On-call duties may be required. We offer a collaborative environment with interdisciplinary support services. Please ensure all requests for time off are submitted upfront.
