Nearly all our 11th and 12th graders are full-time students on a college campus with younger students earning college credits at the school. You will join a committed, creative team of educators who provide academic and social‑emotional support to young people coming from high‑need backgrounds ensuring they are college and career ready. As a teacher or staff member, you will have the opportunity to join in the development and fine tuning of our curriculum, school policies, and enrichment activities. New Heights has a very competitive teacher pay scale that starts at $50k for those with a Bachelor’s, $60k for those with a Master’s, and $65k for those with a Doctorate. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning in core content, elective, and advisory periods. Use technology to support and differentiate instruction. Maintain a safe, orderly and supportive classroom by teaching and establishing routines and rituals. Encourage, monitor, and provide feedback on the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies. Maintain accurate and complete grade books and other anecdotal records of students' academic and behavioral progress and development. Provide consistent communication with parents regarding student progress and behavior through phone or electronic means and at parent and teacher conferences. Participate in department and school meetings and events, instructional coaching, parent conferences, and leadership opportunities for teachers. Perform other duties as assigned.
