Financial Leadership

• Serve as the primary financial business partner to division leadership.
• Provide analysis and recommendations to improve profitability, cash flow, and operational performance.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial trends.
• Support strategic planning and business decision-making through financial insight and reporting.

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Lead all accounting functions, including general ledger management, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal control requirements.
• Manage external audits and coordinate responses to audit requests.
• Review and oversee accounting for complex transactions and key accounts.

Project Controls & Operational Finance

• Lead project financial reviews and project control processes.
• Monitor project costs, revenue recognition, profitability, and forecasting.
• Partner with operations leaders to improve project performance and financial accuracy.
• Analyze contract performance and identify risks and opportunities.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting

• Develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts in collaboration with operational leadership.
• Track and analyze actual results against budget and forecast expectations.
• Prepare executive-level financial reports and presentations.
• Support board-level and corporate reporting requirements.

Internal Controls & Complianc e

• Maintain and strengthen financial controls and accounting procedures.
• Conduct technical accounting research and document accounting policies.
• Support tax compliance, planning activities, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company, legal, and financial reporting requirements.

Process Improvement & Systems Development

• Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting and finance processes.
• Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
• Support implementation and optimization of financial systems and reporting tools.
• Drive continuous improvement in month-end close and financial reporting processes.

Acquisition Integration & Growth Support

• Support financial integration of acquired businesses.
• Assist with due diligence, system migrations, and process standardization.
• Collaborate with corporate finance teams on strategic growth initiatives and special projects.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and internal controls.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively with operational and executive leadership teams.
• Ability to travel occasionally within the Southeast region and to company headquarters.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation.
• Experience managing a complete month-end close process.
• Experience in construction, project-based, infrastructure, or contracting industries.
• Experience with ComputerEase, Vista by Viewpoint, or similar construction accounting systems.
• Background in public accounting.
• Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and post-acquisition integrations.
• Experience implementing financial systems and process improvements.

Reporting Structure

Reports To: Division President
Works Closely With: Division President, Operations Managers, Project Managers, FP&A Team, Corporate Accounting Team, and Executive Leadership.
