Job Details

This role supports multiple teams across the organization, including project management, estimating, and support staff. It focuses on leading preconstruction and estimating efforts using Lean principles to foster collaboration and integrated project delivery. The manager will oversee internal and external estimating resources and participate in the Target Value Design process.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead projects from initial estimate through subcontractor agreements.
• Prepare bid documents and manage the bidding process, including communication with bidders and bid analysis.
• Present estimates and budgets to clients and project partners.
• Review drawings and specifications to define scope and estimate requirements.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of final estimate packages.
• Compare scope, quantities, and costs across projects.
• Evaluate materials and methods, offering cost-effective recommendations.
• Collaborate with design and project teams to meet budget goals and explore alternative solutions.
• Assess project risks and integrate them into cost evaluations.
• Support cost modeling and estimating using model-based design tools.
• Implement process improvements and maintain high ethical standards in client interactions.
• Mentor and coach estimating and preconstruction staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture (or equivalent experience).
• 8-10 years of experience in construction, estimating, or related fields.
• Deep understanding of estimating processes, building systems, and labor productivity.
• Experience with GMP and Lump Sum bidding.
• Proficiency in Excel, WinEst, On-Screen Takeoff, and scheduling tools like Microsoft Project or Primavera.
• Valid driver's license may be required; subject to annual MVR check.
