About the Position

The focus is on providing medical surgical/telemetry and progressive care to adult pre and post transplant patients. Patients include those undergoing liver, kidney, pancreas, and intestinal transplants. You will also care for intestinal rehabilitation patients. Adolescent patients starting at the age of 15 are also present but cared for by core staff only. Overnight patient ratios are typically 1:6, with some nights at a ratio of 1:7. You will provide care that includes accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and phlebotomy. You must manage drips, including heparin and insulin, and perform wound care as needed. The unit is supported by interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Familiarity with telemetry and progressive care is essential. You will need to adhere to strict compliance and operational standards. All candidates must be 100% nicotine-free. The role requires flexibility as you may float to other units to meet facility needs. You will be expected to work weekends and two out of three major holidays during your contract. Nursing staff consists of RNs, care techs, and LPNs, with additional support from CNAs and other care teams. The work environment is fast-paced and driven by patient-centered care.
