With over 3,800 employees and over 30 global manufacturing brands, AGI is a leading provider of equipment and technology solutions for agricultural commodities including seed, fertilizer, grain and feed systems and an expanding platform for food processing facilities.The OpportunityThe Manufacturing Engineer improves upon the manufacturing processes by reviewing upcoming production, reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports, and conferring with Engineering and Operations to implement operating procedures, and provide efficiency improvements.This role will analyze current practices and develop business process improvements, implementing changes in workflows and structures to ensure continuous company performance. They assist in the selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and improvement of product designs, ensuring that cost efficiencies, quality and safety standards are achieved, and customer delivery deadlines are met.Responsibilities:Perform liaison function between engineering and all manufacturing operations for any related issues, problems or improvementsProvide oversight of the continuous improvement function within the locationProvide leadership and training to continuous improvement team, ensuring that they prioritize and complete their jobs successfullyGuide and manage employees by setting expectations, providing coaching and disciplinary actions when necessaryRead, interpret and propose changes to blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reportsConfer with Engineering and Production to implement operating procedures, standard assembly instructions, and provide efficiency improvementsInvestigate shortfalls, issues and complaints regarding manufacturing processesPropose revisions to size, shape and arrangement of parts to create practical design drawings and participate in engineering and general design reviews as requiredQualifications:5 years related Mechanical Engineering experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceCertified LEAN Green Belt or Black Belt preferredStrong background in continuous experience and process development in a manufacturing environmentEngineer and / or designer experience with metal fabrication, and mechanical equipmentKnowledge of machines, tools; including their designs, uses, repairs, and maintenanceKnowledge of welding standards (CWB / AWS) and techniquesKnowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing efficiencyExperience designing using 3D and / or 2D software, SolidWorks experience preferredExperience with item masters/BOMs/routings in a standard cost environment required.Why AGI?We’re leading the way in global food supply chain solutions and here’s how:We’re the leading global expert in providing farmers, processors and commercial customers with the right equipment and customized engineering solutions to produce, protect and deliver the world’s grain, fertilizer, seed, feed and food supplies.Dedicated tosafety, innovation and customization,AGI offers one of the largestcatalogsof equipment and full-service planning and engineering services for the storage, blending, mixing, conveying, conditioning, and processing of agricultural products worldwide.
