Tax Partner

A respected public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Partner to join its leadership team. This opportunity is ideal for an established Tax Partner or an accomplished Tax Director or Senior Tax Manager who is ready to step into a partnership role. Candidates must have recent public accounting firm experience. This position is not suited for professionals whose experience is exclusively in private industry. Experience with a Big Four, national, regional, or highly regarded local CPA firm is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance services for corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, and high-net-worth individuals. Review and sign complex tax returns prepared by staff. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on tax planning, business strategy, and compliance matters. Lead multiple client engagements while ensuring exceptional client service and technical excellence. Mentor, develop, and evaluate tax professionals to support their technical and professional growth. Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and retaining top accounting talent. Maintain the highest standards of quality control and compliance. Stay current on federal, state, and local tax law changes. Support the continued growth of the practice by strengthening existing client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand services. Business development experience is a plus but is not the primary focus of this role. Qualifications Current CPA license required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's in Taxation or Accounting or a JD is a plus. 10+ years of progressive tax experience within a public accounting firm is required. Current or recent experience with a public accounting firm is required. Big Four, national, regional, or highly respected local CPA firm experience is strongly preferred. Extensive technical knowledge of: Corporate taxation Partnership taxation Fiduciary taxation High-net-worth individual taxation Experience reviewing complex tax returns and providing advanced tax planning. Proven leadership experience managing, mentoring, and developing tax professionals. Strong communication, client relationship, and project management skills.
