About the Position

Job Title: Mammography Technologist Profession: Mammography Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: Prior experience in mammography License: NYS licensure registration in Radiologic Technology with mammography credential Certifications: ARRT certification, BLS certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross) Must-Have: ARRT (R)(M) Description: Ensure that the evaluation of mammography procedures is administered accurately, timely, responsively, and reliably. Customers served include employees, medical staff, patients, and regulatory agencies. Priority will be given to activities that directly affect customer service. Perform routine mammography as well as bone density scans and biopsy procedures as requested by referring staff. Demonstrate adequate radiation safety practices concerning both patients and co-workers. Provide patient education as required. Maintain the required number of continuing education units to uphold mammography certification. Establish effective communication with referring physicians, radiologists, and other department customers to ensure efficient operations. Participate in all Radiology Management System functions related to patient procedures. Adhere to appropriate and accepted clinical principles, methods, and procedures while performing mammography and bone density procedures. Perform other related duties as required.
