This role combines advanced database administration expertise with software engineering, AI-driven operations, Infrastructure-as-Code, andcloudplatformautomationtoimprovereliability,scalability,security,andoperationalefficiency.TheidealcandidateispassionateabouteliminatingmanualprocessesthroughautomationandleveragingAItechnologiestotransformdatabaseoperations.KeyResponsibilitiesDesign,administer,andoptimizeenterpriseIBMDB2UDBandPostgreSQLdatabaseenvironmentsacrosson-premises,cloud,andhybridplatforms.DevelopandmaintainautomationframeworksusingPython,Ansible,Terraform,Shellscripting,andAPIstostreamlinedatabaseoperations.Automatecriticalprocessesincludingserverprovisioning,databasedeployments,patching,upgrades,certificatemanagement,backupvalidation,andcompliancechecks.Buildself-servicecapabilitiesthatenableusersandengineeringteamstoprovisionandmanagedatabaseenvironmentswithminimalmanualintervention.Leaddatabaseupgrades,migrations,modernizationinitiatives,andhigh-availabilityimplementationstoimproveplatformresiliency.ImplementandsupportAI-drivenoperationalsolutionsforincidenttriage,rootcauseanalysis,capacityforecasting,performancediagnostics,andrunbookgeneration.EstablishandmaintainInfrastructure-as-Code(IaC)standards,Git-basedworkflows,andcloud-nativedatabasedeploymentpracticesacrossAzureandAWSenvironments.Drivecontinuousimprovementbyreducingoperationaltoil,improvingservicereliability,enhancingobservability,andimplementingself-healingautomationsolutions..Basic Qualifications-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience-At least 6 years experience with tools, facilities and techniques for managing and administering data.Preferred Skills/ExperienceStrongexpertiseadministeringIBMDB2UDBandPostgreSQLdatabases,includinginstallation,configuration,upgrades,performancetuning,backup/recovery,andsecurityhardening.AdvancedproficiencyinPythondevelopmentandautomationengineeringwithexperiencebuildingscalableoperationalframeworks.Hands-onexperiencewithAnsible,Terraform,Git,APIs,CI/CDpipelines,andDevOpspractices.DeepunderstandingofLinuxadministration,databasereplicationtechnologies,clustering,highavailability,anddisasterrecoverystrategies.ExperiencedesigningandimplementingInfrastructure-as-Code(IaC)solutionsincloudandhybridenvironments.KnowledgeofAI/GenAItechnologies,machinelearning-assistedoperations,andintelligentautomationapplicationsfordatabasemanagement.FamiliaritywithAzure,AWS,cloud-nativedatabaseplatforms,observabilitytools(Datadog),andmonitoringsolutions.Strongcommunication,problem-solving,collaboration,andownershipmindsetwiththeabilitytoinfluencestakeholdersanddriveoperationalinnovation.Location expectations This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.If there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants.
