• $120,000 per year A bit about us: Our client, a growing insurance organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their accounting and finance team.

This role will be responsible for supporting the company's financial reporting processes, month-end close, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements while ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards and insurance industry requirements.

Job Details Responsibilities Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages.

Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.

Assist with preparation of financial reporting schedules and supporting documentation for management and external stakeholders.

Research and apply GAAP and relevant accounting guidance to financial reporting activities.

Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts and investigate unusual or significant variances.

Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.

Assist with regulatory and insurance-related financial reporting requirements.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiencies.

Collaborate with other departments to obtain and validate financial information.

Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.

Support special projects, process improvements, and other accounting initiatives as needed.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within insurance, financial services, or another highly regulated industry.

Strong experience with financial reporting and month-end close.

Solid understanding of U.S.

GAAP and financial statement preparation.

Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, and audit support.

Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting/ERP systems.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications Insurance industry accounting experience.

Experience with statutory accounting (STAT) and/or insurance regulatory reporting.

CPA or CPA-track candidate.

Experience with financial reporting software or large-scale ERP systems.
