Job Title: Material Handler Job Description

This role is responsible for shipping and receiving parts, materials, cores, and equipment, as well as maintaining accurate inventory records in a computerized system. You ensure all incoming and outgoing items meet regulatory and company standards for quality, documentation, and traceability while supporting efficient warehouse operations at an airport-based facility.

Responsibilities

• Ship and receive parts, materials, cores, and equipment in accordance with established procedures.

• Replenish inventory using the computer system and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.

• Inspect packages upon receipt to verify there is no visible damage and escalate any issues as needed.

• Confirm that all items received comply with applicable federal regulations and company policies.

• Verify part numbers, serial numbers, and shelf life information for all incoming materials to ensure full traceability.

• Perform shelf life audits to identify and address expired or soon-to-expire materials.

• Build, modify, or relocate shelving and storage solutions to optimize warehouse organization.

• Conduct regular cycle counts to reconcile physical inventory with system records.

• Handle parts and materials safely and efficiently to prevent damage and maintain quality.

• Provide courteous customer service to internal stakeholders and support their material needs.

• Use computer systems and tools to track inventory, process shipments, and generate documentation.

• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area in compliance with workplace standards.

Essential Skills

• 12 years of experience working in an inventory department or warehouse environment.

• Proficiency with computer systems for inventory tracking, data entry, and documentation.

• Experience with shipping and receiving processes for parts, materials, and equipment.

• Hands-on experience with inventory control, including stocking and cycle counts.

• Strong attention to detail when verifying part numbers, serial numbers, and shelf life data.

• Ability to handle parts and materials safely and accurately.

• Customer service skills to support internal and external stakeholders.

• Verifiable high school diploma, with ability to provide proof of diploma or transcripts during onboarding.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience working with parts and materials in an aviation or similar regulated environment is beneficial.

• Comfort working with inventory management or warehouse software applications.

• Ability to organize shelving and storage areas for efficient material flow.

• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments.

• Capability to follow detailed procedures and compliance requirements.

• Reliability and punctuality in a time-sensitive warehouse and airport setting.

Work Environment

This position is based indoors in a warehouse located at an airport facility. You will work around parts, materials, and equipment in a structured storage environment, using computers and inventory systems as part of your daily tasks. The role involves physical movement within the warehouse, including handling and organizing materials and shelving. The dress code includes a T-shirt, work pants, and closed-toe shoes to support safety and comfort while working in the warehouse.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.75 - $23.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
