Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer – West Des Moines, IA Shive‑Hattery’s West Des Moines Office is hiring an Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of experience. This full‑time position is for a motivated professional who is currently licensed or plans to obtain a professional engineering license. The role is fast‑paced and involves collaboration with a talented team to deliver high‑quality commercial projects for clients. Responsibilities Design electrical systems for buildings, including power distribution, LED & custom lighting, life‑safety systems, and data/communications. Lead the design and production of projects across Industrial, Institutional, Commercial, Education, Government, and Healthcare facilities. Visit construction sites to assist with measuring, data collection, and construction observation. Manage time and workload effectively, planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks with attention to detail. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an electrical emphasis. Experienced in 3D modeling; proficiency in Revit preferred, and a willingness to learn Autodesk Revit. Experience in the design of lighting, power, and low‑voltage systems. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communication. Administrable engineering license or intent to obtain one (FE exam taken or planned).
