Job Purpose The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, assisting in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies, and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager in all inventory‑related functions concerning materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in the stockroom, warehouse, or yard. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform physical counts of inventory items to maintain accurate inventory. Count and reconcile randomly chosen or specified part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis. Accurately input inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity. Complete necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on time. Trace the history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions. Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager. Spend 80% or more of the workday performing inventory‑related activities in the warehouse using an RF gun or tablet; 20% or fewer time at a computer terminal. Travel to and assist at other facilities as needed. Maintain reliable transportation. Additional Responsibilities Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Ensure compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations. Physically count products on shelves, racks, and pallets. Use the computer terminal to account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation. Qualifications Minimum 1–3 months related experience and/or training in inventory control. Minimum 1–3 months related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment. Experience operating power equipment such as a reach truck, EPJ, or cherry picker/order picker. Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred). Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access. Education and/or Experience Required High School Diploma or GED equivalency. Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents. Ability to read and write emails. Ability to physically count products on shelves, racks, and pallets. Forklift certification a plus. Language Skills Sets Effective communication, reading, writing, and speaking English. Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effective presentation and response to questions from managers, clients, and customers. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in conditions with limited standardization. Interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form. Determine the root cause of problems and develop corrective actions. Computer Skills Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and creating/interpreting reports. Physical Demands Occasional lift or move of up to 55 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others. Regularly talk, hear, stand, and walk. Work in excess of continuous eight‑hour periods when required. Maintain work accuracy and concentration in stressful situations. Reading and discerning visual images on various media with 20/20 corrected vision. Clear communication over telephones. In sound physical health as determined by a certified physician, with no evidence of controlled substance use. Work Environment Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and noise levels range from quiet to moderately loud.
