Inventory Control Clerk - 1st shift

Job Purpose The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, assisting in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies, and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager in inventory-related functions concerning materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in the stockroom, warehouse, or yard. No Cost: The program costs nothing to employees; shares are granted yearly based on salary. Responsibilities Perform physical counts of inventory items to maintain accurate records. Count and reconcile randomly selected part numbers or locations daily. Accurately input inventory control data to ensure integrity. Complete necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on time. Investigate inventory discrepancies and recommend remedial actions. Other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager. Spend 80%+ of the workday performing inventory activities in the warehouse using an RF gun or tablet; 20%+ at a computer terminal. Travel to and assist at other facilities as needed. Maintain reliable transportation. Additional Responsibilities Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Ensure compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations. Count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets. Use computer terminal to account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation. Qualifications Minimum 1–3 months of related experience or training in inventory control. Minimum 1–3 months of experience or training in a warehouse environment. Experience operating power equipment such as a reach truck, EPJ, or cherry picker/order picker. Experience with WMS software is a plus (Synapse preferred). PC literate with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access database. Education & Experience Required High School Diploma or GED. Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals. Ability to read and write emails. Physical ability to count on shelves, racks, and pallets. Forklift certification is a plus. Language Skills Effective communication, reading, writing, and speaking English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems in variable situations where limited standardization exists. Interpret instructions (written, oral, diagram, schedule). Determine root cause of problems and recommend corrective action. Computer Skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails, interpreting, and creating reports. Physical Demands Occasionally lift or move up to 55 pounds. Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl regularly. Speak and communicate clearly over the phone. Work in excess of continuous 8‑hour periods as required. Handle stressful situations while maintaining accuracy and concentration. Have 20/20 corrected vision for reading visual media. Be in sound physical health as determined by a licensed physician; no evidence of controlled substance use. Work Environment Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. Noise ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
