Class B CDL Side Load Garbage Truck Driver

Overview Interstate Waste Services is hiring CDL B Side Load Truck Drivers. Safety is our first priority. $31.27 per hour (with overtime). Responsibilities Operate front, side, or rear‑loading trucks to pick up bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material. Transport material to designated disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities and may make multiple trips during a shift. Deploy both manual and automatic trucks as required. Repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds, move or maneuver up to 100 pounds, and mount or dismount the truck multiple times per route. Requirements and Qualifications 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States. Valid Class A or B CDL with AirBrake endorsement. At least one year of CDL driving experience in the last seven years. Excellent safety record and clean MVR. Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is highly preferred. Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations. Ability to speak and read English, understand highway traffic and signals, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on reports and records. Ability to read and understand a map. Meet physical and safety requirements of the position. Willing and able to work required hours as regulated by DOT, including weekend, night, and/or holiday work. Drivers must perform pre‑ and post‑inspection and ensure the truck complies with IWS standards, OSHA, DOT regulations, and local traffic laws. Drivers may be required to navigate congested communities and confined or tight areas in city locations. Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential.
