Job Title: Pediatric Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric ER Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Night Rotating Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: MO license or compact required Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS, ENPC, TNCC/ATLS required Must-Have: - Pediatric Emergency Department experience - Ability to work every other weekend - First-timers accepted Description: This position is for a Pediatric Emergency Room Nurse in a high-acuity setting. The nurse will work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule. The nurse will care for patients with a variety of conditions including chronic illnesses and acute emergencies. Patient ratios will be maintained at 4:1 or 5:1 depending on the shift. The facility is a verified Level 1 trauma center. Conscious sedation is performed in the unit. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, and social services. The daily census fluctuates around 140 visits. Strong critical thinking skills and teamwork are essential for success in this role. Travelers must float within their service line as needed. This role requires availability during holiday weeks. Candidates must be prepared to meet the facility's needs and ensure high-quality patient care.
