Buffet Line Cook

Schedule:   Monday–Friday, 6 AM–2:30 PM

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Buffet Line Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and maintaining a variety of buffet items in a high-volume food service environment. The ideal candidate has strong kitchen experience, good attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining food quality, cleanliness, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook buffet items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
• Maintain your assigned kitchen station during service, keeping it clean, organized, and fully stocked.
• Monitor buffet food levels and temperatures throughout service.
• Cook, replenish, and rotate food as needed to keep the buffet fresh, full, and visually appealing.
• Work closely with front-of-house and back-of-house staff to ensure smooth and timely service.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.
• Use proper knife skills and cooking techniques to maintain quality and consistency.
• Assist with large-volume prep for daily buffet service, catering events, and special functions.
• Stand for extended periods and lift heavy pots, pans, and supplies as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, buffet cook, or similar kitchen position preferred.
• Experience in high-volume restaurants, buffets, catering, or corporate dining is a plus.
• Strong knife skills and knowledge of basic cooking methods such as grilling, roasting, sautéing, and frying.
• Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures.
• ServSafe certification is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with a team.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work the scheduled hours.
