Collaborative Therapies is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in a hospital-based setting. Position Summary
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Working closely with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary treatment teams, you will develop individualized treatment plans that support improved communication, safe swallowing, and overall patient well-being.
This position is located within a behavioral health hospital setting and requires a compassionate clinician who is comfortable working with patients experiencing mental health conditions and dual diagnoses.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and physician orders.
- Assess and treat dysphagia and provide recommendations to promote safe swallowing and reduce aspiration risk.
- Perform ongoing patient reassessments and modify treatment plans based on progress and changing clinical needs.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary treatment teams to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation within the patient's medical record.
- Ensure documentation meets facility, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and patient care conferences.
- Follow established clinical policies, procedures, and professional standards of practice.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable facility, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications
Required
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current and unrestricted Speech-Language Pathologist license in the State of Texas.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
Preferred
- Experience in a hospital, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or behavioral health setting.
- Experience evaluating and treating dysphagia.
- Experience working with patients who have complex medical or behavioral health diagnoses.
Position Details
- Part-Time Opportunity
- Flexible schedule (three days a week)
- Day shift (approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Minimum three-month assignment with the possibility of extension
- Start date contingent upon completion of all facility onboarding and credentialing requirements
Compliance Requirements
Selected candidates must successfully complete all facility onboarding requirements prior to their start date, including but not limited to:
- Drug screening
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting
- Required facility orientation and training
- Compliance with applicable immunization requirements
- COVID-19 screening requirements, as applicable
- Adherence to all facility attendance, confidentiality, and professional conduct policies
