Programming Leader and School Implementation Specialist

Our mission is to provide early exposure of AAPI stories, cultures and peoples, fostering pride in identity and promoting understanding among students of all backgrounds. We envision a future where AAPI cultures are seamlessly integrated into the fabric of American identity. Since our inception, we have reached nearly 250,000 students across 50 states through innovative curriculum, cultural programming and community‑building. Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Programming Leader and School Implementation Specialist to join our team on a full‑time basis. This role will focus on developing high‑quality, culturally responsive curriculum and providing direct support to schools and educators implementing AAPI‑centered content. The ideal candidate is an educator at heart, with a strong background in curriculum design, teacher training, and DEIB (diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging) initiatives. Key Responsibilities Programming Development Design, refine, and expand K‑12 curriculum resources aligned with educational standards and supportive of current needs. Source, validate and integrate external programming and curriculum resources where it aligns with TeachAAPI’s mission and goals. Ensure all content reflects best practices in culturally responsive teaching and promotes AAPI representation. Collaborate with educators and subject matter experts to create engaging, project‑based, and inquiry‑driven and PBL curricula. Partner with the Programming Committee to create, organize and execute annual programming TAPmap under our three pillars: classroom learning materials, cultural & community events, virtual, on‑demand programming. Partner with the Programming Committee to shape and develop TeachAAPI’s ongoing pipeline of programming. School Implementation Partner with schools and districts to support the integration of TeachAAPI resources into classrooms. Serve as a key liaison between TeachAAPI and partner schools, fostering collaborative relationships. Conduct needs assessments to tailor implementation strategies to each school’s unique context. Provide coaching and professional development for educators on using TeachAAPI materials effectively. Monitor and evaluate the impact of implemented curriculum on student learning and engagement. Gather feedback from educators and administrators to inform curriculum revisions and future initiatives. Plan and facilitate virtual and in‑person workshops, webinars, and teacher training sessions to deepen engagement and facilitate implementation. Develop educator toolkits and resource guides to support ongoing professional growth. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in education, curriculum development, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of teaching or curriculum design experience, preferably in K‑12 settings. Deep understanding of culturally responsive teaching practices and DEIB principles. Strong facilitation and coaching skills with experience delivering professional development. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Passion for AAPI representation and education. Preferred Master’s degree in education, instructional design, or related field. Experience working with diverse school communities, including Title I schools. Familiarity with state and national educational standards. Knowledge of Asian American and Pacific Islander history and culture.
