About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Float Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: GA or Compact license required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: HARD STOP: Epic experience required. Minimum experience of 1 year is needed. First-time travelers are accepted. The patient population includes adults to geriatrics. The float nurse will be required to float to all medical surgical and medical surgical/telemetry units within the facility. Patient ratio is approximately 1:5-6. The unit utilizes Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR for charting and medication management. Scrub color is navy blue. Maximum requested time off is 7 days. Blackout dates for requested time off are during spring break. Every other weekend coverage is expected, averaging 6 weekends in a 13-week contract. Floating to a nearby campus is required. No call requirements are expected. If assigned to work during major holidays, the traveler is expected to fulfill holiday shifts. Full compliance is required to start on time. If not compliant in time, the start may be delayed by 2 weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule. Full details on compliance and orientation will be discussed during onboarding. All required documentation must be completed prior to the start of the assignment. This position requires compliance with all facility policies and procedures.
