Doctor of Medicine | Surgery - General/Other Location: Dickinson, ND Employer: AAS Locum Tenens Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position A community-focused healthcare facility in Dickinson, North Dakota is seeking a Locums General Surgery Physician to provide ongoing surgical and call coverage. This opportunity offers a balanced mix of scheduled surgical procedures, clinic responsibilities, inpatient rounding, and on-call coverage within a supportive rural hospital environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable practicing broad-spectrum general surgery independently and managing both elective and emergent surgical cases. Position Details Coverage Need: Approximately 14 working days per month Approximately 10 days of call coverage per month Practice Setting: Inpatient, outpatient clinic, and surgical coverage Trauma Level: IV Hospital Bed Count: 25 beds Average Daily Census: 15 patients Schedule & Call Scheduled surgeries performed Monday through Friday Emergent surgical coverage required 24/7 Call coverage includes: Phone consults Admissions Rounding on General Surgery patients only Call response time: 20 minutes Patient Volume Average General Surgery patient volume during 24-hour call: Approximately 0–5 patients Required Procedures Candidates must be comfortable performing a broad range of General Surgery procedures including: Abdominal surgery Endoscopy Liver procedures Stomach procedures Gallbladder surgery Appendectomy Colon surgery Laparoscopic procedures Spleen procedures Preferred Additional Experience Experience with the following is preferred but not required: Pediatric surgery Thyroid procedures Pulmonary procedures Vascular procedures Qualifications MD or DO required Board Certified in General Surgery highly preferred Board Eligible candidates accepted within 3 years of completing U.S. residency training Active North Dakota medical license required Current ACLS certification required Active DEA required
