We are looking for a driven and dependable Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in leading our Austin store team and delivering an exceptional shopping experience that reflects the Duck Camp brand.

Description

In this role, you will help drive sales performance, support team development, and ensure strong operational execution. You will step in to lead the store when needed and play a key role in maintaining the Duck Camp experience day to day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sales & Operations
• Support daily store operations including scheduling, payroll support, inventory control, merchandising, and visual presentation.
• Partner with the Store Manager to monitor KPIs.
• Assist with inventory ordering, replenishment, and stock accuracy, including regular cycle counts.
• Execute floor sets and product launches aligned with brand direction.
• Ensure Shopify POS systems are used accurately and efficiently.

• Customer & Brand Experience
• Lead by example in delivering an authentic and exceptional customer experience.
• Build strong customer relationships that drive repeat business and loyalty.
• Support in-store events and local partnerships that strengthen Duck Camp's presence in the Austin community.
• Ensure the store consistently reflects Duck Camp's brand aesthetic and standards.

• Talent & Team Development
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and training of team members.
• Provide daily coaching and feedback to Sales Associates and Key Holders.
• Assist with performance conversations and development planning.
• Foster a team culture rooted in product knowledge, accountability, and professionalism.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• 35+ years of retail leadership experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting hiring and team development.
• Strong understanding of retail KPIs and operational execution.
• Comfortable operating in a growth-stage, entrepreneurial retail environment.
• Familiarity with Shopify POS or similar systems preferred.
• Passion for the hunting and fishing lifestyle strongly preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
