\n

About the Role

\n

Preston Rentals is hiring a Field & Technical Support Specialist to be our technical and safety expert for SuperDeck® systems on commercial construction projects across the United States and Canada.

\n

\n

This is a cross-functional role. In the field, you'll oversee installations, removals, and relocations, train customer crews on safety, and make sure every system is set up correctly according to approved engineered drawings. Behind the scenes, you'll support our sales, operations, and engineering teams and our clients with technical guidance, troubleshooting, and coordination. This role calls for strong construction knowledge, the ability to read building blueprints and engineered drawings, and the confidence to lead and advise crews and customers. It requires flexibility, a willingness to support field, sales, and administrative work, and extensive travel.

\n

\n

What You'll Do

\n

\n

Project Coordination & Technical Support

\n

\n
• Attend coordination meetings with Preston Rentals sales teams and customer project teams to provide field and technical expertise, review upcoming installation requirements, flag potential challenges, and make sure all parties are aligned before installation
\n
• Coordinate with third-party engineers, Preston Rentals staff, and customers to confirm installation drawings accurately reflect customer requirements and site conditions
\n
• Identify and escalate drawing discrepancies, site conflicts, or requested field changes for engineering review and approval before installation
\n
• Provide phone support to troubleshoot product issues, with flexibility across time zones
\n

\n

\n

Pre-Installation Site Assessment

\n

\n
• Confirm site access, crane requirements, installation locations, structural and site readiness, and any conflicts before work begins
\n
• Read and interpret building blueprints and engineered drawings, including dimensions, elevations, connection details, and installation locations
\n

\n

\n

Installation Oversight & Safety

\n

\n
• Oversee the installation, removal, and relocation of SuperDeck® systems at customer jobsites
\n
• Provide SuperDeck® specific safety and installation training to customer crews
\n
• Guide crews through each step with clear, concise instructions
\n
• Exercise stop-work authority and immediately escalate safety concerns, drawing discrepancies, equipment damage, or conditions that differ from approved plans; field modifications require engineering approval
\n
• Complete final installation verification and checklists, documenting that each system was installed according to approved drawings and procedures
\n
• Inspect equipment and identify damaged or malfunctioning components
\n

\n

\n

Internal Coordination & CRM Administration

\n

\n
• Work closely with Sales, Administration/Transportation, Operations, and Yard teams to coordinate upcoming installations, removals, relocations, equipment needs, and jobsite schedules
\n
• Maintain accurate, timely project information in the company CRM and other internal systems, including installation dates, jobsite contacts, project status, field notes, and photos
\n
• Communicate schedule changes, jobsite issues, equipment needs, and other project updates to the right internal teams
\n
• Follow up on outstanding information for upcoming installations so equipment, transportation, engineering documentation, and customer requirements are in place before mobilization
\n

\n

\n

Yard & Equipment Support

\n

\n
• Assist the yard with routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs as needed
\n
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company property in good working condition
\n

\n

\n

Additional Duties

\n

\n
• Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs, including supporting Sales, Operations, Engineering, Administration/Transportation, Yard, and customer project teams. Responsibilities may evolve as business and project needs change.
