That's a fixable problem.

I'm Ryan Jaiswal with Distinct Recruitment, and I'm hiring a Litigation Partner in Tampa for an insurance defense firm that defends healthcare providers. The firm wants a senior med mal lawyer who will lead cases, shape the team and have a real voice in where the practice goes.

A portable book is preferred. It is not required.

\n

\n

The role

\n

\n

• Leading the defense of physicians, hospitals, nursing staff and other healthcare providers

\n

• First chairing trials and setting case strategy

\n

• Managing relationships with carriers and healthcare clients

\n

• Supervising associates and giving them meaningful responsibility

\n

• Recruiting and developing the next generation of med mal defense lawyers

\n

• Helping to grow the Tampa healthcare defense practice

\n

\n

What you bring

\n

\n

• Significant medical malpractice defense experience

\n

• Trial experience as lead counsel

\n

• Florida Bar admission

\n

• Strong relationships with clients, or the ability to build them

\n

• A collaborative leadership style

\n

\n

Compensation and working pattern

\n

\n

• $200,000+, negotiable depending on book and experience

\n

• Hybrid, based in Tampa

\n

• 1,950 billable hours

\n

\n

On the question of book

\n

\n

If you bring clients, they'll be welcomed and supported, and compensation will reflect them. If your strength is trying cases and keeping carrier clients happy rather than origination, that's still very attractive here. Some of the best med mal partners in Florida have built their careers on excellent work for institutional clients. The firm sees that as a real asset.
