Job Description
As a Senior Copywriter, you will create high-quality, performance-driven copy for global brands across a range of channels and formats. You’ll combine strong writing craft with audience insight, strategic thinking and performance data to develop compelling copy that meets client objectives. You’ll translate creative briefs, messaging frameworks and strategic direction into effective communications, while contributing ideas and recommendations that strengthen the work. You’ll use Pencil and GenAI as part of the creative process to create, iterate and optimise copy at scale, applying strong human judgement and quality control throughout. You’ll work closely with strategists, creatives, media, data and AI specialists, take ownership of complex copy projects and help maintain high standards across the wider team.

Responsibilities:

Content craft & delivery

• Write and edit high-quality, audience-first content across written formats, including digital ads, websites, landing pages, CRM and social

• Translate creative briefs, messaging frameworks and strategic direction into compelling copy, contributing ideas and recommendations where appropriate

• Lead copy-focused client discovery, gathering tone of voice and brand identity materials and developing content toolkits and sample content

• Oversee the execution of complex copywriting projects, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow from project initiation to completion

• Take ownership of copy quality across projects, including briefing, writing, editing and quality assurance, supporting smooth and timely delivery

• Provide guidance and feedback to other copywriters where appropriate, helping maintain high standards across the team

AI, strategy & performance

• Skilfully use Pencil for AI-enabled copy creation, iteration and optimisation, testing and refining prompting and generation approaches to improve copy quality, consistency and performance

• Apply Pencil expertise to develop effective copywriting approaches across different assets and use cases, sharing best practices and learnings with the wider team

• Contribute to content and creative strategy, using audience, cultural, search and performance insights to develop messaging approaches and content recommendations

• Use audience, search and performance data to understand how copy is performing, identify opportunities and inform optimisation

• Design effective AI prompts and use agents or automated workflows to support and scale multi-step content tasks

• Stay current with developments in digital content, AI-enabled creation and the evolving digital landscape

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience in copywriting, ideally within an agency or working across multiple brands and digital channels

• Excellent copywriting and editing skills, with a portfolio demonstrating strong writing craft and the ability to adapt to different brands, audiences and tones of voice

• Experience writing across digital formats such as paid media, social, CRM, websites and landing pages

• Experience translating creative briefs, strategies and messaging frameworks into compelling copy

• Strong understanding of how audience insight, search and performance data can inform effective copy

• Experience using GenAI tools within copywriting or creative workflows, with strong prompting skills and curiosity around agents, automated workflows and emerging technologies

• Confidence contributing to messaging, content and creative recommendations

• Strong client-facing, communication and presentation skills

• Excellent attention to detail, organisation and quality control

• Experience collaborating across strategy, creative, media, data and other specialist teams

• Ability to manage complex projects and priorities while consistently delivering high-quality work

• Experience providing feedback, guidance or mentorship to other writers is a plus
