Key Shift Manager

Key Manager Role Overview The Key Manager is responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring excellent customer service, supporting staff, and maintaining operational standard along with being accountable for opening and closing the restaurant. Key Responsibilities 1. Shift Leadership Lead and supervise front-of-house and/or back-of-house staff during shifts Assign tasks and ensure smooth workflow Step in to support any position during busy periods 2. Opening & Closing Duties Open and/or close the restaurant (unlock/lock doors, alarms, lights) Count cash drawers and manage safe deposits Ensure cleanliness, prep, and readiness for service 3. Customer Experience Ensure a welcoming, high-quality dining experience Monitor service speed and food quality 4. Staff Support & Training Train new employees on procedures and service standards Enforce company policies and health/safety guidelines 5. Operations & Compliance Follow food safety and sanitation standards Monitor inventory levels and report shortages Ensure compliance with local health regulations 6. Administrative Tasks Complete shift reports and logs Communicate updates to upper management Qualifications Previous restaurant or hospitality experience (1–3+ years preferred) Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Flexible availability (nights, weekends, holidays) Key Skills Leadership & team management Customer service excellence Time management Conflict resolution Attention to detail Work Environment Fast-paced, high-energy restaurant setting Standing/walking for extended periods May involve lifting (up to ~25–50 lbs)Hu #J-18808-Ljbffr Ontario Trillium Foundation
