This role plays an important part in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting decision-making, and helping IPS operate efficiently as a growing multi-branch organization./ppAt IPS, we believe accountability, ownership, and teamwork drive long-term success. The Staff Accountant works closely with the Accounting Manager and transactional accounting team to ensure financial processes are completed accurately, deadlines are met, and financial information supports sound business decisions across the company./ppThis role also provides day-to-day oversight and support for transactional accounting roles and activities while identifying opportunities to improve systems, efficiency, and financial visibility./ph3Essential Functions/h3pAccounting Operations Transaction Oversight/pulliSupport and oversee daily accounting transactions including journals, ledgers, and account coding to ensure accuracy and accountability of company financial data./liliReview and verify accounting entries within Sedona Office and related accounting systems./liliEnsure proper reconciliation of cash activity and daily accounting transactions./liliAssist in maintaining accurate general ledger activity across multiple accounts and departments./li/ulpReconciliations Financial Accuracy/pulliPrepare and review monthly bank reconciliations./liliComplete balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records./liliEnsure journal entries are accurate, timely, and properly recorded, including accrued and prepaid expenses./liliAssist in identifying discrepancies and resolving accounting variances./li/ulpAccounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Oversight/pulliProvide day-to-day support and coordination for transactional accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit card processing./liliAssist in monitoring project job costing and internal financial coding accuracy./liliSupport customer account review, credits, collections, and unapplied cash resolution./li/ulpReporting Financial Support/pulliPrepare financial reports and supporting schedules for management as requested./liliAssist leadership by providing timely and accurate financial information to support business decisions./liliSupport monthly close processes and internal reporting deadlines./li/ulpTax, Audit Compliance Support/pulliPrepare state sales tax filings and assist with licensing-related financial requirements./liliSupport fiscal year-end audit preparation and external review processes./liliAssist in maintaining organized documentation for audits and compliance needs./li/ulpInventory Process Improvement/pulliAssist with inventory counts, reconciliations, and financial review of inventory activity./liliIdentify opportunities for improvement in systems, efficiency, cost containment, and financial processes./liliRecommend practical process improvements that support company growth and accuracy./li/ulpTeam Support Collaboration/pulliOversee and provide guidance and daily coordination support to transactional accounting team members, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and office support roles./liliCommunicate clearly and professionally with internal teammates, vendors, and customers./liliSupport accounting team priorities in a collaborative, solution-focused environment./li/ulh3Qualifications/h3pRequired Qualifications/pulliBachelors degree in Accounting preferred; equivalent experience considered./lili13 years of accounting experience preferred./liliStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes./liliStrong Excel skills and comfort working in accounting systems./liliHigh attention to detail and organizational ability./liliStrong problem-solving and analytical skills./liliAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines./liliStrong written and verbal communication skills./li/ulpPreferred Qualifications/pulliExperience with Sedona Office or similar accounting software preferred./liliExperience supporting AP, AR, reconciliations, and financial reporting./liliExposure to construction, service, or project-based accounting environments preferred./liliCPA not required./li/ulpRequirements Expectations/pulliPrimarily sedentary office role./liliFrequent computer, phone, and office equipment use./liliOccasional filing, document handling, and office movement required./li/ulpIPS Culture Expectations/pulliOne Company Support company success through accurate financial work, a growth mindset, and dependable service to both internal and external customers.
