Will conduct and document first article inspections and capability analysis to support our PPAP programs. Support quality improvement efforts, Internal Auditing and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Participate in project kick-off teams improving quality aspects of product introduction, and have a fundamental understanding of quality systems, SPC, and control plans.***Principal Duties and Responsibilities******(but not limited to...)**** Laboratory Management: Maintain calibrated equipment in accordance with acceptable industry standards (ANSI/ASME).* Perform calibration process.* Keep accurate, clear, and concise records and reports.* Write programs from Customer Prints and Models that allow for completing quality checks on CMM equipment for given part numbers.* Demonstrate proficiency in programming all software. (PC-DMIS, Zeiss, Renishaw)* Design and procures fixtures needed to hold products for inspection during product development; sets criteria for instruments and specifications.* Trouble-shoot programs as necessary to ensure accuracy of part testing.* Conduct Capability Studies on new products as part of the PPAP process. This duty is performed as needed.* Take critical measurements using gauges, fixtures and other measurement tools.* Be able to analyze problems, make decisions, and take necessary actions to get the job done.* Interpret inspection results.* Maintain a clean work area ensuring strict adherence to the 5S Standards.* Maintain safe and accurate equipment operations. Use tools correctly and efficiently insuring quality workmanship.* Be familiar with Quality Management System requirements and follow procedures as applicable.* Assist with training and mentoring of junior team members in inspection and programming techniques with a focus on knowledge-sharing and team development.* Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.* Ability to ballon a drawing per customer/ internal requirements in a timely fashion.*Please note that the duties and requirements described herein are intended to represent general contents of this job.
