Chief Financial Officer

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting and finance operations, including financial reporting, cash flow management, month-end close, project financials, and overall financial strategy. The candidate will lead a team of four Controllers and should have a strong background in construction finance, project-based accounting, and team leadership . Spanish/English bilingual proficiency is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Oversee the company’s accounting and finance functions, including four Controllers
\n
• Partner with the current CFO during a planned transition into the CFO role
\n
• Take ownership of month-end close and consolidated financial reporting
\n
• Oversee cash flow, cash management, working capital, and forecasting
\n
• Provide financial oversight of active construction projects and project profitability
\n
• Review project financials, job costing, WIP, and overall project performance
\n
• Develop and present financial strategy and recommendations to the CEO and leadership team
\n
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and analysis
\n
• Ensure accurate and timely financial statements and reporting
\n
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and controls
\n
• Support banking, insurance, audit, and other external financial relationships
\n
• Partner with operational and project leadership to drive financial performance
\n
• Develop and mentor the accounting team through a collaborative, servant-leadership approach
\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Construction industry experience is required — contractor-side experience strongly preferred
\n
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
\n
• Strong experience with project-based financial management
\n
• Experience with job costing, WIP, project profitability, and cash flow management
\n
• Strong financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting skills
\n
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
\n
• Spanish/English bilingual proficiency strongly preferred
\n
• CPA, MBA, or other advanced degree preferred but not required
\n
