No. of Beds in Department: 3 labor rooms, 14 postpartum beds

EMR System: MediTech 6.1

Specialty Backup Available: Anesthesiology (24/7), Radiology (24/7), Hospitalist support

Hospital Privileges Required: No

Temporary Privileges Available: Yes

Required Procedures:

• Low risk pregnancy OB Ultrasounds - Performance of, interpretation
• Routine delivery (Vaginal, Low forceps, Decision-making for c-section)
• Complicated delivery (C-section, Breech, Multiple births, Abruptions, VBAC's)
• Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
• Office/minor gynecology - IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.
• Surgical gynecology (Open, Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor only - tubal ligation, LOA's, chronal tubation)
• Operative/major (includes diagnostic) - ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOA's, Laser certification

Board: BC required (Certified)

Licenses: Active NC License, NC DEA, NC Medicaid

DEA: NC DEA required

Experience: Actively delivering babies with case logs from past 12-24 months

Other Qualifications: Fully vaccinated, no recent malpractice cases, and PECOS enrolled

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Round on patients daily
• Perform emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries
• Perform emergent GYN procedures (e.g., ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal)
• Manage high-risk deliveries and arrange transfers to higher-level NICU if needed
• Provide on-call coverage via cell phone with 20-minute response time
