Property Manager

The Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds (HKC) is seeking an experienced, energetic, hands-on maintenance and repair professional with strong leadership and organizational skills to join our team as Property Manager at HKC Rockland County .

ABOUT THE HENRY KAUFMANN CAMPGROUNDS

The Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds is a mission-driven nonprofit organization with three locations serving the day camp community. HKC Rockland County is a 105-acre property that is home to four children's day camps. Our seasonal operation provides maintenance and janitorial services, aquatics supervision and security to ensure a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for the camps and children we serve.

THE POSITION

The Property Manager supervises a year-round staff of 3 and seasonal staff of approximately 15 . You will lead, train, mentor and inspire your team while overseeing the daily and long-term care of the property.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead, train, mentor and evaluate maintenance staff.
• Manage daily, weekly and long-term projects and work orders.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for property, vehicles and equipment
• Oversee landscaping, grounds, buildings, pools, vehicles and equipment, all while promoting a strong culture of safety

This is a hands-on leadership position, not solely a desk job. On any given day, you may be mowing, painting, repairing a vehicle, troubleshooting a water or sewage issue, removing trash or operating equipment such as a backhoe, tractor, skid steer, ride-on deck mower or 3-wheel groomer. The administrative function includes processing and documentation of work orders, ordering supplies and managing inventory, as well as managing employees to include ongoing feedback and evaluations.


MANAGEMENT & SUPPORT

The Property Manager reports directly to the COO/CFO , who has extensive maintenance facility experience and is invested in the success of the Property Manager and the team. You will also have the support of the senior management team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of successful team management experience , such as a foreman, project manager, maintenance supervisor or similar leadership role
• Experience with one or more of the following: Preventative maintenance with small engine and equipment repair, vehicle and machinery maintenance, landscaping and grounds maintenance, painting and carpentry, minor electric and or plumbing and pool maintenance
• Training, mentoring, evaluating employees and working hands-on alongside a team
• Computer proficiency and experience using technology

A degree or certificate in property management, agronomy, landscape management, facilities management or a related field is a plus.


REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Within six months of hire, the Property Manager will be expected to obtain (at HKC's expense):

• OSHA 30 Certification
• CPO (Certified Pool Operator) Certification
• First Aid Certification
