The 2nd shift metal finisher (Monday through Thursday, 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM) plays a critical role in ensuring that metal components meet precise quality and aesthetic standards before proceeding to the next stage of production or shipment.

This position involves applying various finishing techniques, including grinding, polishing, buffing, and deburring, to metal parts. The metal finisher must carefully inspect each piece to identify imperfections and apply corrective measures to achieve a smooth, defect-free surface. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to maintaining product integrity and workplace safety.

Schedule

2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in metal finishing, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment
• Ability to work the 2nd shift schedule reliably
• Basic understanding of metal properties and finishing techniques
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification or training in metal finishing or surface treatment processes
• Experience with automated finishing machinery and hand tools
• Familiarity with reading blueprints or technical drawings
• Knowledge of quality control standards and inspection methods
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain metal finishing equipment, including grinders, polishers, and buffers
• Perform surface preparation tasks such as deburring, sanding, and polishing to meet quality specifications
• Inspect metal parts for defects, surface imperfections, and dimensional accuracy
• Document inspection findings as required
• Collaborate with quality control and production teams to ensure finished products meet customer and company standards
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures
