Offset Plate Maker

Are you a mechanically minded individual with a background in technical assembly or chemistry? We are seeking a dedicated Offset Plate/Cylinder Manufacturer to join our client’s production team. This is a "ground-floor" opportunity where you will start by mastering image comprehension and plate processing before advancing into specialized manufacturing tasks. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently within the plant while maintaining clear communication with external resources to keep production moving.

Position – Offset Plate Maker

Job Location – Lomira, WI

Starting Date – ASAP

Employment Term – Temp to hire

Employment Type – Full time

Work Hours (Shift) – Training on 1st shift and will go to 2nd shift

Starting Pay –$18 to $19/hr

Required Experience – At least 2 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Plate & Cylinder Preparation: Load and unload materials to bend plates of all sizes for the press; perform cylinder stripping and Ballard shell removal.
• Quality Control: Inspect plates and cylinders meticulously for quality and adherence to specifications.
• Inventory & Logistics: Use automated Work in Progress (W.I.P.) and Long Term Storage (LTS) systems, including overhead cranes, to store and retrieve gravure cylinders.
• Digital Tracking: Use "Smart tools" to track and move job components through the production workflow.
• Area Maintenance: Maintain high standards of "6S" (General cleanup and organization) of the production area to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.

Qualifications

• Experience: A background in mechanical assembly, chemistry, or technical manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED (equivalent experience will be considered).
• Communication: Basic ability to speak, read, and comprehend English is required.
• Safety First: Must strictly adhere to all departmental safety rules and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Independence: Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision while collaborating with the wider team.
