We are assisting one of the largest equipment rental providers in the world in recruiting a Power & HVAC Mechanic in the Bakersfield, CA area. This role primarily focuses on maintaining and repairing mobile generators in a safe, professional manner.

The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, enjoys hands-on work, and is motivated to grow into higher-level technician roles while delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and minor repairs on generators, HVAC systems, air quality equipment and other diesel engines if needed (willing to train on the HVAC side). 
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on rental and customer equipment
• Travel occasionally to customer sites to support equipment service needs
• Demonstrate equipment operation and functionality to customers
• Assist with equipment and parts pickup/delivery as needed

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing generators
• Intermediate diagnostic and repair skills across mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and pneumatic systems
• Basic ability to read and interpret schematics and diagrams
• Own basic toolset relevant to the position (company will provide all specialty tools)
• Willingness to work in the field when needed (company vehicle will be provided)
• Willingness to participate in a rotational 4-6 week on-call schedule
• HVAC experience, preferred but not required (willing to train)
