Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary:


Provide expert perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. Ensure comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, and evaluation of patient responses while coordinating with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the surgical setting.
• Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and responses accurately and efficiently.
• Assign and oversee the work of non-nursing care providers within the operating room team.
• Perform a variety of professional nursing services, including scrub and circulating duties.
• Maintain compliance with all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate effectively with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:

• Valid NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• Minimum of ASN degree; BSN preferred.
• Current BLS certification from AHA required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge and analytical skills to develop effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Experience with level I trauma cases; endovascular, spine, neuro, ortho, or ortho trauma experience is a plus.
