Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of Medical Surgical experience required License: Valid state license required Certifications: BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 1:5 / 1:6 patient ratios First-time travelers accepted Medical or religious exemptions and declinations allowed for COVID-19 and flu vaccines No license or background hits accepted Description: This position involves working on the Medical Surgical unit during night shifts. The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:6. The typical census for this unit is around 23 patients. Patient age groups include adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Common patient diagnoses include stroke, hyperglycemia, renal failure, and various medical conditions. Candidates must possess BCLS and NIHSS certifications. Experience with charting systems is preferred but not required. Administrative tasks include the management of blood products and medication delivery. Nurses will collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams such as physical therapy and social services. The role may require floating within the facility based on staffing needs. Expectation to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with the staff. Candidates must be comfortable with a high patient-care ratio and floating policies.
