About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical experience required. - Previous Charge Experience preferred. - Travel experience preferred, but not required. License: - Valid state license required. Certifications: - BCLS required. Must-Have: - Stepdown/PCU experience. - Must not live within 50 miles of the facility. - Must float to PCU unit as needed. - Must not have any license or background hits. Description: Registered Nurse position available on a 22-bed adult Medical Surgical Oncology unit. Daily census averages around 22 patients. This unit provides care for patients with a variety of diagnoses including post-surgical recovery, wounds, sepsis, pneumonia, diabetes, and oncology needs. Nurses will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients. Experience with the following skills is required: - IV start - Peripheral line care/management - Blood product administration - Colostomy/ileostomy management/care - Renal failure - Use of Rapid Response/Code teams - Wound care/Wound Vac management - Oxygen administration - Non-invasive airway management - Starting and maintaining IVs Nurses will work with an interdisciplinary team that may include Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and more. This position requires flexibility to float within the hospital on a regular basis. Weekend and holiday shifts will be required on a rotating basis. An understanding of Meditech charting system is preferred, but not mandatory. Workers must be comfortable with high patient care ratios and supporting staff across various units as needed.
