Senior Buyer position at Zimmer Biomet in Minnetonka, Minnesota, responsible for sourcing and procuring materials from qualified suppliers while optimizing total cost and ensuring compliance with company policies and practices.
Responsibilities
- Issue purchase orders, negotiate contracts, and establish blanket orders with suppliers
- Evaluate supplier quotations and recommend cost-saving alternatives based on quality and delivery
- Resolve discrepancies related to delivery, quality, specifications, quantity, or cost of purchased materials
- Partner with quality, engineering, planning, and operations teams to resolve supplier issues and ensure material availability
- Review requisitions and investigate supplier financial condition and production capabilities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
- 5-7 years of purchasing, procurement, or sourcing experience
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Contract negotiation and supplier evaluation skills
- Knowledge of purchasing performance metrics and competitive bidding
- Strong written and oral communication abilities
- Analytical and organizational skills with spreadsheet competency
Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000
