Lead Groundskeeper

Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial/ Grounds Worker Date Posted: 9/2/2026 Location: District-Wide Lead Groundskeeper Monday through Friday 8 hours per day Hours vary depending on seasonal needs Range VII, $25.00/hr Job Summary The Lead Groundskeeper is responsible for directing the work of the groundskeeper and seasonal employees and maintaining the District's grounds, playground equipment, athletic fields, vehicles, and parking lots. This position performs seasonal mowing, snow removal, equipment maintenance, athletic field preparation, and delivery services. Job Duties The Lead Groundskeeper will maintain District lawns and grounds, including mowing, trimming, pruning, and monitoring irrigation systems; perform snow and ice removal; and perform routine maintenance and repairs on mowers, tractors, and other grounds equipment. This position provides work direction and assignments to groundskeeper and seasonal staff, including equipment-specific training. Additional responsibilities include setting up and maintaining District athletic fields, coordinating interschool mail and building-to-building deliveries, and maintaining outdoor areas and athletic facilities. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Valid Minnesota Driver's License 1–3 years of previous related experience Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of snow removal equipment, mowers, tractors, and other grounds equipment General knowledge of sprinkler/irrigation systems and equipment maintenance Effective communication, organizational, and time-management skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and provide effective work direction to others Able to lift up to 20 pounds continuously, 50 pounds frequently, and 75 pounds occasionally Posting Closes Internally 9/6/26, externally open until filled Final job offer contingent on board approval and criminal background check. #J-18808-Ljbffr Sartell-St
