Sonographer (Ultrasound) - 13 Week Contract Position

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (40 Hour Guarantee)

Job Description

The Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic exams and procedures in the Ultrasound department efficiently and according to physician orders. This role involves effective collaboration with patients, physicians, and interdepartmental personnel.

Responsibilities

• Complete studies promptly, utilizing downtime to assist others as needed.
• Check exam charges and manage the 5-day late list daily for the ultrasound department.
• Organize workload during high-volume periods to expedite patient care and communicate pending exams and pertinent information to other technologists.
• Assist physicians in performing radiology procedures.
• Maintain positive relationships within the department and address concerns with the supervisor while representing the department positively to staff.
• Maintain supplies at minimal inventory and explore new methods of supply utilization.
• Handle equipment safely and appropriately in line with department policies.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow equipment cleaning protocols.
• Respond to on-call policy and arrive in the department within 30 minutes if called in.
• Willingly assist with procedures in any area of radiology when needed.
• Adhere to attendance and tardiness policies.
• Follow the dress code and appearance policy.
• Participate in required hospital and departmental in-services and meetings.
• Follow safety and infection control policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of experience in ultrasound - required.
• Echo and Vascular experience - required.
• Ability to perform Echocardiograms with Definity Contrast - required.
• Ability to conduct Echo and Vascular studies, including TTE, TEE, stress echo, venous reflux exams, venous dopplers, carotid doppler, arterial doppler, ABI, pericardiocentesis, thrombin injections, and vein mapping exams - required.
• Must be able to start own IV - required.
• MediTech EMR experience - required.
• Active ARDMS Certification - required.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification - required.
